17th International Conference on Mobile and Ubiquitous Multimedia
Cairo, Egypt     Nov 25 - Nov 28, 2018

MUM 2018, the 17th International Conference on Mobile and Ubiquitous Multimedia will be held in Cairo, Egypt, November 25th - 28th.

MUM is a distinguished forum for advances in research and technologies that drive innovation in mobile and multimedia systems, applications, and services. At MUM academics and practitioners gather to discuss challenges and achievements from diverse perspectives, in a single track conference format. This year's conference aims to continue the tradition of innovation and excellence in research established by previous MUM conferences.

The Art Track aims to create a dialogue between art and science to create a space of interdisciplinary inspiration and to foster creativity and innovation transfer. The Arts Track welcomes submissions from a wide range of practitioners in areas such as multimedia production, engineering, research and fine arts, including submissions from researchers, students and independent practitioners. Each submission should address a topic within the scope of the MUM conference and find artistic ways to work with mobile and ubiquitous multimedia.

Submissions will be selected not just for their technological novelty but for their degree of formal sophistication, their conceptual creativity, and their engagement with issues of active concern to the fields of mobile and ubiquitous multimedia art.

Accepted Art Track papers will be published in the ACM digital library, and the Art Track projects will be exhibited during the conference. Artists (or their delegates) will need to be available for installation and bump-out, and for facilitating interaction with their artwork at scheduled times.

One author of each accepted submission must register for the conference before the early registration deadline in order for the final paper version to appear in the conference proceedings.

Art Track submissions should be 4-6 pages (excluding references) in the SIGCHI Extended Abstracts Format and should be accompanied by a one-page informal specification of the infrastructure requirements. Art Track submissions contain an abstract that is less than 150 words long that clearly states the project's contribution to the field. Moreover, Art Track submission have to contain an illustrative video of the project showing what visitors of the Art Track exhibition will expect. Submissions will undergo a review process managed by the Art Track chairs. Sumissions to the Art Track must be submitted via EasyChair.
